This can be taken as a part 2 to Shattered so you might want to watch that first.

From Malcolm's POV. Eric & Malcolm have always been enemies. In this one Eric, still angry with Malcolm for ruining his relationship with Bill (see Shattered), summons Malcolm's former lover Lance. Lance took advantage of the then young vampire and was a very cruel, physically & emotionally abusive bastard. Malcolm finally figured out Lance was no good and left him long ago but now, because of Eric, Lance has returned. Eric & Lance conspire against Malcolm. On Eric's advice, Lance goes to Mick looking for Malcolm but Mick won't tell him anything. Bill senses something is about to happen, he and Mick worry that Malcolm will fall for Lance again and that Lance will hurt Malcolm. But their worry is unnecessary because Malcolm is now a much stronger vampire and can hold his own against Lance. He's not fooled by Lance and would never believe his lies, he's no longer Lance's pawn. Eric is very unhappy that Lance has not yet succeeded in getting Malcolm back. Mick goes to Josef (who is now with Eric) and tells him what Eric is up to but Josef doesn't believe him. Bill goes to Eric to confront him as well and to try to get him to make Lance back off. Malcolm has some moments of sadness as he remembers his relationship with Lance (there are flashbacks of a young Malcolm - minus his facial hair - in bed with Lance) but his "child" Diane is there to comfort him. At the end Malcolm is with his friends at Merlottes and Lance shows up. Malcolm remains strong. Lance can see he's outmatched so he flees. In a surprise ending, Mick and Josef have come up with their own way of dealing with the Lance issue once and for all to permanently protect their friend Malcolm, from future harm by Lance.
