From Mick's POV. The black & white scenes are Mick's memories. The story: Mick & Beth were a couple but Mick treated Beth badly and over time her love for Mick was gone. Beth & Josef then fell in love and they are a happy couple. Mick's been devastated ever since he let Beth walk away. He doesn't show it to them but Mick feels like he's been stabbed in the heart every time he sees his best friend and his ex-girlfriend together. It's making him crazy and suicidal. He won't let himself feed, he's depriving himself of blood and is trying to die. When Mick is weak and almost dying, Josef finds him, rushes him back home and saves him. It never occurs to him that Mick was trying to kill himself, he assumes it was work related and some psycho vampire kept him locked up and unfed in a grungy motel room. Mick thinks about everything and realizes how it would hurt Josef and Beth if he were to kill himself. In desperation he goes to Josef and tells him everything, how he feels he can't go on and how he's still in love with Beth and knows he was wrong and without her he just wants to die. Josef is stunned, he had no idea Mick was so devastated over this because Mick hid it. Josef feels deep sadness that Mick is suffering. He knows it was Mick's own fault that Beth left him but he also feels partially to blame. He loves Beth and he knows Beth loves him but if he was gone would Beth give Mick a 2nd chance? Would that end his best friend's suffering? What will Josef do? Get your kleenex out! If I've done well your heart will hurt for both men!
