She's always had a premonition that she would have to leave him to save his life. The opening scene, two parts in the middle and the ending are all meant to be the present time - all the Lance scenes basically. All other scenes are flashbacks. In the video Coraline is remembering her life with Mick over the past hundreds of years. Their relationship was passionate & turbulent. The lyrics fit that perfectly. There were many times she was going to leave him but they always came back to each other. Now, right before she knows she's going to be taken by Lance, she is flooded with those memories. She gives the ultimate sacrifice for Mick: herself! The video is entirely from Coraline's point of view.
