The tale: Mick has 2 lovers: Josef & Professor Christian Ellis.
I open the video trying to show the almost obsessive/aggressive passion Mick feels for the Professor. He tells Ellis that he's seeing Josef as well. The Professor takes off his glasses and absorbs it all, he is very calm about it.
The 1st verse comes, it's from Josef's POV. Mick hasn't been coming home. Josef and Mick are discussing this and Josef is visibly stung & hurt (notice how Josef takes a step back from Mick) when Mick admits that he is also seeing the Professor.
I try to illustrate that Mick/Josef share a gentle and loving relationship while Mick/Professor share a very passionate, sexually aggressive relationship.
The 2nd verse is from the Ellis' POV. He's a more calm, subdued and self confident a man then Josef. He's caught between confusion and pain and realizes promises they made were in vain. If Mick must go he wishes him well and tells him "You'll never walk alone...take care my Love, miss you Love..." The Professor is very matter-of-fact about it all.
Josef tells Mick "if he ever hurts you, true love won't desert you..." but Josef is more emotional and needy then the Professor is and can't handle that Mick is seeing someone else. Though it's difficult, he walks away. He wants to give Mick time to sort out his feelings. However did that work against him? The Professor later on reminds Mick that Josef walked out the door even after telling him that "true love won't desert you". How hypocritical Josef isl! He tells Mick that this proves that he (The Professor) is the one who offers true love - not Josef because he is still there! He didn't go scampering away just because Mick was seeing Josef too!
All the black & white scenes are of Josef and/or the Professor reminding Mick of things. The Professor reminds Mick of the passion they have shared & Josef reminds Mick of happiness & love they have shared. Mick needs to make a choice! Which man will he choose? Maybe we don't know...maybe I left it open! Oh yeah, ignore the word "girl" at the end of the song LOL The whole song was perfect except for that word - oh well...you can't have it all!
