This video is based on an upcoming fan fiction. Because it's an AU/crossover story I'm going to give a very long and detailed synopsis below so you understand what the story is about. Basically it's from Demetri's POV but there are times Cho & Mark's POVs are presented.
Demetri & Cho were former lovers (each was the other's first love). Something happened to separate them and now Demetri's FBI team has begun working in the same building that houses Cho's CBI team. Cho is currently in a relationship with Jane, but old feelings are still very much there between Cho and Demetri. Here's the play by play of the video:
It opens with Dem and Cho in their day to day lives - doing their jobs. After they arrest their baddies and bring them in, I show Demetri figuring out that Cho has a lover. This is a difficult thing for him.
As Jane & Cho stand there watching Demetri. Jane knows Dem was Cho's first love but his arrogance is in full swing and he feels like he's "better than Demetri" and doesn't need to worry. He doesn't realize the strong feelings Cho and Dem still have for each other.
The lyrics begins and I show Cho and Dem having a private conversation - the lyrics are pretty well what is being said. This point of the video is both Demetri and Cho's POV. Cho is doing the talking at first and Dem is listening (Cho's saying the first line of the lyric) - then Dem is doing the talking (Dem is saying the second line of the lyric). Let the lyrics be the guide for the gist of their conversation. Cho lets Demetri know he is with Jane, he's sorry but that's the way it is. Demetri tries to accept this.
Once their conversation is over (assume some time has passed) the lyrics become fully from Dem's POV. Seeing Cho & Jane together all the time is killing him inside. He's having sleepless nights (that is meant to be Demetri tossing and turning in bed) and he's losing ground so he reaches for Cho but while Cho is sympathetic - he won't go meet Dem. He's staying strong. I tried to show Demetri being completely emotionally broken and desperate - especially once Cho hangs up the phone. He's in total despair. Cho feels regret for not going to Demetri - he thinks how broken Dem sounded on the phone.
Next I show how love has found Cho. (scene of him and Jane smiling at each other). HOWEVER Cho's mind is on Dem and Jane is beginning to figure that out slowly - he looks at Cho out of the corner of his eye seeing Cho watching Demetri. The chain is still binding him (metaphor for the chain being the love that Cho & Dem still have for each other).
Now Dem wants Cho to remember how things were. They meet, it's up to your interpretation if they have sex or if they just talk and are remembering the sex.
During the first time when Jane leaves Cho - the lyrics are STILL from Dem's POV - think of it as he's telling Cho "if he ever hurts you..." and I'm showing the scene where Jane leaving Cho standing in the parking lot which is hurting Cho. Dem tells Cho he still loves him and won't desert him. Assume that Cho has told Dem that he needs to try to move on. (off camera).
Dem still hurting...he's got it bad for his Cho. The poor guy is in emotional agony. Jane watches...he's understanding now that this could be serious!
Finally Dem takes an interest in another Agent (Mark). He decides to take Cho's advice and try to move on. Mark is in love with Demetri - he has secretly loved Dem for a long time and is thrilled that finally Demetri is showing interest. BUT Cho sees it (Dem touching Mark's arm to stop him from walking so he can ask him out) and Cho is JEALOUS! Jane sees the look on Cho's face when Dem asks Mark out. Jane is now worried!
(again, some time passes) Cho has been extremely jealous of Dem and Mark's relationship. It's affecting his relationship with Jane and Jane blames Demetri! Jane decides he needs to take action! He starts taunting Demetri - flaunting his relationship with Cho at Demetri (off camera - and behind Cho's back) and tossing out comments and digs at Dem whenever he can. He wants Dem to lose his temper because in Jane's mind then Cho will see that Dem is just a punk with a temper and that he (Jane) is a much better catch. His insecurity is making him do all this - he doesn't want to lose Cho so he has to prove he's the better man.
Mark knows the situation - and knows that Jane has been taunting Dem. Mark tries to keep Demetri away from Jane.
When Jane starts following Dem & Mark and taunting him more Dem finally snaps and tries to go after Jane. Mark stops him! Mark sortof getsmad and tells Dem he's playing in to Jane's hands and that he has HIM (Mark) why does he keep letting Jane antogonize him like that? Mark keeps him back but Dem is broken and frustrated again and ends up taking it out on Mark. Jane is very pleased with himself! He thinks he's won! Cho won't want Dem now!
BUT Cho has the opposite reaction! He's livid at Jane for hurting Dem that way!
Later, they are all at an official outdoor ceremony. Dem thinks of the promises he once made to Cho and currently has made to Mark BUT he keeps thinking the promises he made were made in vain. He can't focus on the ceremony, all he can see is Cho. His heart just can't let go. He closes his eyes to try to push the pain away.
Demetri realizes he can't continue things with Mark. Not when he feels so strongly for Cho. He meets Mark and tells him he needs to end things - he needs to go.
At this point the POV now changes and the lyrics are from Mark's POV. He accepts that Dem needs to break from their relationship - but he lets him know he'll (meaning Dem) never walk alone. Dem knows Mark is a good man but his thoughts drift to Cho. He snaps back to the present and Mark tells Demetri he will miss him. Dem & Mark remain friends.
Mark watches as Demetri tries to deal with his feelings for Cho. (Mark finds Dem in a bar). He sits down with Dem and wants one more night with him - to remind Dem how they were - but Dem rejects him and walks away leaving Mark sitting alone.
Back at the office (the lyrics are still from Mark's POV) Dem is sitting with his hand on his head, Mark observes him. He tells Dem... "if he (Cho) ever hurts you...." and he and Dem go out to lunch....Mark reminds Dem that he will never desert him and still loves him - Dem is touched but goes on his way...
Back to the office! Mark is giving Jane the "look" - Jane knows Mark is on to him (in regards to Jane taunting Dem) and Jane looks away. Meanwhile Demetri & Cho share a look.
Jane is up to his tricks again - he puts on a big smile and waves at Dem to taunt him! Dem has had enough of this all but he keeps himself in control and tells Jane to knock it off. Cho sees that Jane is "picking on" his Demetri again and is really mad. Jane's childish behavior is making him re-think things.
Nervous that Dem will lose his cool, Mark takes Dem to another room, Jane sees them go and then over hears what Mark is saying to Demetri. Mark tells Demetri not to let Jane get to him. That he is better then that! That it's not worth it! He tells Jane that if Cho wants to choose a "child" (Jane) over a man (Cho) then it's his loss! He's trying to help Dem see things differently.
Cho is furious with Jane and Jane tries to talk his way out of it but Cho walks away! Jane knows his behavior was childish and bad - he's beginning to regret it and feel sorry. He realizes now that he might have pushed Cho right into Demetri's arms.
Now I show more of Dem/Mark and Cho during another day at work. Dem & Mark on involved in a very dangerous car chase. Cho and Rigsby are apprehending a bad guy. But Dem & Mark get in to a horrible accident! Mark is scared to death that Dem is dead - he can't find him! He was thrown from the car. Mark is on the verge of a major panic attack when Dem calls out to him - Mark rushes to Dem's side. Demetri sees just how Mark reacted when he thought Dem was dead - it makes him begin to think differently. Maybe Mark is the one afterall....
The next day he's happy to see Dem at work.
Cho has decided he needs to come clean with Demetri - he's happy as he goes to Dem's desk and tells him: I still love you! I really love you! (ignore the word girl LOL)
BUT since the accident Dem has been thinking about this all - about Mark and about Cho and about Jane. He's confused now - a week ago if Cho had told him this news he'd be ecstatic but now he's unsure what to do. This was not the reaction Cho was expecting! BUT Jane has overheard Cho's declaration of love to Dem and is heart broken. He knows it's his own fault that Cho has gone running to Dem to tell him he loves him. Dem ponders what to do...maybe he does love Mark afterall.
Jane walks out! He assumes Dem and Cho will now live happily ever after so he just walks out! Dem finds out that Jane has walked out on Cho and is very angry. He tells Cho (rather passionately) that "True love won't desert you!" Cho listens - he knows Dem is right.
Unknown to them, Jane came back to get something that he forgot. Jane overhears what Demetri has said to Cho. Jane knows Demetri is right. He realizes he's been and is being an ass. He needs to make this right!
Cho paces - he's frustrated - he knows Dem was speaking the truth. He thinks perhaps he and Demetri were right together all along...
But Jane comes to Cho and sits by him - he apologizes, admits he's an ass. He tells Cho he understands if he wants to leave him but he really wants a 2nd chance to prove he can be an adult and he can be the perfect partner.
Demetri is now thinking about what he said to Cho. He has an epiphany! Mark has never deserted him! Not ever. Mark has always been there for him. He comes to a conclusion and puts on his coat and heads out the door...you'll see where he goes!
Do they all get a happy ending? Watch and see!
